July 28

Today we went to visit the home of CS Lewis.  He named his home The Kilns because it is on the site of the old brick kilns.  He had a huge piece of land that included a pond and a hill.  Now there are houses on a large portion of his land, but his house and the pond and hillside are still in original condition.  The house was renovated and brought back to its former glory in the late 1990s.  We were able to go through the whole house, full of original furnishings and memoirs as well as visiting the pond and taking a nature hike on his land.  It was beautiful!!

Then we visited the Parish church of CS Lewis.  This is where he and his brother were buried.
